audrey and i went shoe shopping yesterday in les halles. i hate les halles. there are always some nasty guys trying to talk to you and if you tell them to bugger off, they start insulting you, as if that would make you change your mind and pursuade you to strike up conversation! shoe shopping with audrey is an old tradition. we used to work together on the same shift on saturdays last spring and summer and inevitably we always ended up shopping, both delaying having to go back to le 93. then we would go to the RER and get junk sweets to take with us on the trains. Audrey is lucky, she finally got a place in paris this year, so she now lives near gare du nord and doesnt have to take the RER out to aulnay sous bois anymore. we were talking about that: how we used to walk home from work late at night through some of the dodgiest of areas and not think anything of it. what were we thinking?
